JamaicaEye
JamaicaEye is a national surveillance programme developed to strengthen Jamaica's public safety and security infrastructure. This programme was launched in March 2018 and leverages a network of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across the island. It forms a critical part of the Ministry's strategy to modernise crime-fighting efforts through the use of technology.
The project supports law enforcement and emergency response teams by improving situational awareness, aiding in crime prevention and investigation, and enhancing the management of disasters and public emergencies. The initiative aids in monitoring public spaces, maintaining order, and securing digital evidence critical to investigations.
