Project ROC (Rebuild, Overhaul, and Construct)
In 2018, the Ministry launched Project ROC (Rebuild, Overhaul, and Construct) in collaboration with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) and National Housing Trust (NHT) in response to an evaluation of 213 police facilities. To enhance operational readiness, officer morale, and public service experiences, the project was established to transform police stations into safe, citizen-friendly spaces.
Since its inception, over one hundred and forty (140) police facilities have been renovated or constructed. This includes the first-ever, state-of-the-art Forensic Pathology Autopsy Suite, which was constructed at a cost of approximately six hundred and eighty million dollars ($680M). The initiative represents a significant commitment to strengthen police infrastructure and improve national security and citizen safety.
