Overview
The Corporate Communications and Public Relations Branch (Public Affairs) manages the Ministry's internal and external communications. It coordinates media relations, public affairs, and strategic communications initiatives designed to promote transparency, public trust, and confidence in the Ministry's operations.
The Branch serves as the primary liaison between the Ministry and the public, media organisations, and other stakeholders, ensuring that accurate and timely information about the Ministry's activities, policies, and programmes is disseminated effectively.
Key Functions
- Media and press relations — managing media enquiries, issuing press releases, coordinating press conferences and interviews
- Public communications — disseminating information on Ministry policies, programmes, and achievements
- Stakeholder engagement — fostering relationships with civil society, government agencies, and the public
- Internal communications — producing staff bulletins, newsletters, and internal advisories
- Social media management — overseeing official social media platforms and digital communications
- Event coordination — planning and managing Ministry events, ceremonies, and protocol activities
- Branding and publications — producing official documents, reports, and promotional materials aligned with Ministry branding
- Crisis communications — coordinating the Ministry's communications response during security incidents and emergencies
