Overview
The Strategic and Customer Service Branch encompasses three complementary functions — Customer Service, Enterprise Risk Management, and Compliance and Quality Management — all working together to modernise the Ministry's operations and embed a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Customer Service
The coordination, leadership, and management of the Ministry's customer service functions is a primary responsibility. Central to its role is the development and implementation of policies, programmes, and standards that elevate service delivery and drive the modernisation of Service Excellence across the Ministry.
Guided by the strategic mandate of the Office of the Cabinet, this unit oversees the execution of the Customer Service Improvement Plan, ensuring a structured, results-driven approach to service transformation. Through strategic leadership, innovation, and stakeholder engagement, it is dedicated to building a modern, efficient, and trustworthy public service environment.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
This unit is responsible for embedding a structured approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks inherent to the operations of the Ministry and its Agencies. It designs and implements strategies and processes that mitigate threats to the successful delivery of the organisation's corporate and business plans.
Through a robust ERM framework, the Branch bolsters the Ministry's capacity to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to emerging threats. This fosters operational efficiency, resource optimisation, and strategic foresight, ultimately strengthening the Ministry's capacity to achieve its national security outcomes and goals.

Compliance and Quality Management
The Compliance and Quality Management unit leads the development and implementation of compliance and quality management frameworks and strategies. It ensures that the Ministry complies with various policies including the Data Protection Act and the Service Excellence Policy.
